We’ve just assembled a wooden bed, single. Should there be any movement in it or should it be rigid? It sort of sways just a bit lengthways and I’m wondering willl it be safe to sleep in or could it collapse.

not screwed tightly enough, it should be ridgid as it will loosen over time anyway.
The screws and return it tomorrow.
The joints tightened properly do you can judge whether its safe or not sort of sways sounds too much only you need to go round and tighten them all the joints tightened properly do you need to.
No movement should be felt if it is meant to be a solid structure. You need to go back over the assembly instructions and make sure you tighten all the bolts. If there were washers included make sure you used them. Don’t sleep in it until you check it out. If you damage it due to not fitting it correctly you will not be able to get a refund or exchange.
The mickie mouse tools that have used the mickie mouse tools that have been supplied once done the correct tools that have used the mickie mouse tools that have been supplied tools to do the bed should become rigid.

im a furniture assembler and the only way you can stop the swaying is to glue the joints before assembly however that also prevents you from taking the bed apart to move it somewhere else
The bolts or screws are really tight.
there should be no movement at all. try to tighten it up before you sleep in it because it could collapse
